We attempt to identify students who:

  • Are willing to cooperatively participate with other students, teachers, staff, and volunteers according to the philosophy and policies outlined in the Parent/Student Handbook;
  • Have evidence of average or higher grades and achievement test scores;
  • Have evidence of appropriate class behavior and positive peer interaction; and
  • Who have a desire to grow in their understanding of Biblical truth and who desire to grow in their personal relationship with Jesus Christ.

Admission Steps

Step 1. Application Forms Part I and II and Application Fee of $100
The admissions process begins with parents submitting a completed application — including a signed Authorization to Release Records form—with payment of the application fee. The Admissions department will forward the Release form to the applicant’s current school to obtain copies of his or her educational records and teacher observations.

Applications for grades 1 through 12 are considered as openings occur throughout the first semester of the school year for which the application is submitted. Caldwell Academy does not admit students during the second semester of the school year. Applicants who are not admitted initially may be given the option of remaining in a waiting pool until they can be offered admission. Applicants in the waiting pool do not need to reapply.

Kindergarten applications for the 2012-2013 school year are currently being accepted. Additional applications for kindergarten and applications for other grades submitted after the date indicated above will be considered as space becomes available in specified grades.

Please see our Application and Instructions page to complete our online application.

Step 2. Parent Interview
We will contact an applicant’s parents to schedule an interview if an opening is suitable for their child. The purpose of the interview is to assess how well Caldwell Academy matches the educational desires of the parents. Grammar School applicants do not participate in the interview; Dialectic and Rhetoric students may be invited to do so.

Step 3. Screening
All kindergarten and first-grade applicants require pre-admission screening and all Dialectic and Rhetoric applicants are required to take a standardized entrance exam for placement purposes. Other grades may require screening to ensure proper placement. Parents pay the testing fees.

Step 4. Acceptance
Parents will be notified of acceptance by letter or phone.

Step 5. Enrollment
When a contract between the school and parents is signed and the contract deposit has been paid, the student is enrolled for the school year.

Step 6. Welcome to Caldwell Academy!
