Caldwell Academy offers four levels of concert bands, serving students from grades 4-12. The beginning band for 4th and 5th graders meets after school, with some advanced 5th graders joining the 6th grade band twice per week. Both the 6th Grade Band and 7th/8th Grade Band are offered as elective classes, meeting twice per week during the school day. The Rhetoric (9-12) Band meets twice per week, with additional sectional rehearsals scheduled. Students may audition in the spring to be considered for the upcoming year’s Jazz Band. This group learns the traditional jazz playing style which focuses on improvisation.

Bands perform two major programs per year (Winter and Spring) and supply music for many Caldwell programs, including Veteran’s Day, Grandparent’s Day and Graduation. Additional off-campus performances are given at the ACSI Band Festival, area retirement homes and other public places. Emphasis is placed on developing musicianship, discipline and camaraderie, as well as glorifying God through His great gift of music.
